(a) Report on meeting between Cllrs Verden and Blackwell and Helen Howard – NCC – The VAS signs in the centre of the village are due to be updated in March. Funding has been secured for gateways at the village entrances for 2010/11 financial year. Earls Barton has also been put forward for traffic calming measures and a 20mph zone as part of a Safer Routes to School scheme for 2010/11. The adoption of Blackwell Close is progressing and matters relating to the school driveway have now been taken on by Duncan Mills of NCC. Cllr Blackwell proposed the following resolution “That the Parish council seek a meeting with Barkers Shoe Co Ltd to discuss the problems of parking and congestion in the centre of Earls Barton. That the County Councillors, the 3 Borough Councillors for Earls Barton, representatives of the NCC Highways, Asset Manager, Darren Perry, and an officer of Borough Council of Wellingborough be invited to attend the meeting” This proposal was seconded by Cllr Wright and unanimously agreed.
(b) Gulley Cleansing Programme – The gulleys in Earls Barton are due to be cleansed in March. The Clerk will contact NCC and ask for notices to be put up prior to the works.
